Data sources and methodology
All records come from official, publicly available lists. They are downloaded once a day by our own data pipeline (around 05:00 Korea time) and the site is rebuilt from them every morning.
South Korea: game ratings
- Publisher
- Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC, 게임물관리위원회), through its open data service listed on the Korean Public Data Portal. Decisions by the Game Content Rating Board (GCRB, 게임콘텐츠등급분류위원회) are included in the same data.
- Licence
- Open public data, commercial use permitted without restriction.
- What a record is
- One rating decision for one game and platform: ALL, 12+, 15+, 18+, or refused classification. Ratings later revoked are shown with their current status.
- Date used
- The rating date.
- Coverage limits
- Since 2017, most mobile games are rated by app stores under self-rating agreements and do not appear here. PC, console and arcade games are well covered.

China: game publishing licenses (版号)
- Publisher
- National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA, 国家新闻出版署), monthly government notices: domestic online games (国产网络游戏审批信息), imported online games (进口网络游戏审批信息), imported console games (进口电子游戏审批信息), changes (游戏审批变更信息) and revocations (游戏审批撤销信息).
- What a record is
- One approval: title (Chinese only), publisher (出版单位), operator (运营单位), category, approval number (批复文号) and ISBN (出版物号). It is a publishing license, not an age rating, and genre is not published.
- Date used
- The approval date. Approvals are announced in monthly batches, so a month's figure is complete once its batch appears.
- Company names
- Kept in Chinese exactly as published. They are not translated, because there is no official English name for most companies.

Taiwan: game software ratings
- Publisher
- Taiwan Game Software Rating Information (遊戲軟體分級), maintained by the Digital Game Self-regulation Committee under the Administration for Digital Industries, Ministry of Digital Affairs. This site adjusts or removes Taiwan records at the publisher's request.
- What a record is
- One rated product and platform: G, P (6+), PG12, PG15 or R (18+).
- Date used
- The release date (上市日期), not the rating date. Games rated before release are shown as not yet released.

How pages are built
- Translations. Ratings, genres, platforms and content descriptors are translated with fixed, reviewed tables; the original wording is always shown next to the English. Titles and company names are never translated.
- Platform types. Every platform is also mapped to one of Mobile, PC, Console, Arcade, Web or Other (VR devices, physical media and unidentified devices are Other).
- Matching across countries. Records are joined into one game page when their titles are the same after normalisation and their first records are no more than two years apart. Before comparing, demo marks (體驗版, 体验版, 체험판, Demo), language editions (中文版, 英文版 …) and platform tags ([PS4], [NSW], [PC] …) are removed, and traditional and simplified Chinese are compared as one. Each country usually has its own applicant (a Korean distributor, a local subsidiary in Taiwan or China), so a different company does not prevent a match; such pages say "same title, different local publisher". Each pair gets a confidence score from 0 to 1 (title 60%, company 25%, dates 15%, reduced for very short titles); 0.8 or more is a match, 0.55 to 0.8 is shown only as a possible match. Korean titles can be compared with others only through Latin text they contain. Games by individual developers are not matched across countries.
- Commentary. Summary sentences are generated from the counts on the page. They state numbers and changes only; percentage changes are given only when both months have at least 10 records.
- Personal data. See the privacy policy.
